The Company

Mellona is a registered trade mark of Assia Mare Ltd, Limassol, Cyprus. The company was established in 2000 in Limassol, Cyprus with the aim to promote traditional flavors of the Island through natural food products of high quality and great nutritional value.

The company is a small family business located in Limassol province on the south coast of Cyprus. The province is well known for its agricultural products such as carobs, grapes, almonds and honey. Our location ensures that the very best of the produce is used for Mellona products and also that the raw goods come to our facilities straight from the producer.

Production

The foundation of our production processes is our uncompromised commitment to top quality and authenticity. To achieve this we count on our co-operation with producers that share the same passion and on our technologically advanced production facilities.

In 2006 we introduced an organic line of products and we currently operate two independent production lines. Mellona honey specialties and Mellona organic honey specialties.

Our manufacturing processes are in compliance with international hygiene standards and especially the HACCP concept. In addition to hygiene standards Mellona goods are prepared gently and with great care in order to preserve the value (flavour and sustenance) of our authentic ingredients.

The People

Michalakis the founder of Mellona, believes that healthy nutrition is the basis for wellbeing. The Cypriot tradition as well as his own way of life (healty nutrition with no artificial additives) motivates the making of Mellona goods. His devotion and skills brought about the innovative solidification method for the making of Mellona Honey Spreads.

Michalakis and his three children form a passionate hardworking team that manages the company towards its goals. The successful team is characterized by their love and devotion to the Mediterranean diet and the island’s countryside which are the leading values of the company.
